Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has returned to the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka at home as the Tigers all-rounder has been included in the 15-member squad announced against the Lankans on Wednesday. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief selector Minhazul Abedin Nannu thinks it is good for the team if Shakib or the best players like him back in the side.
Shakib took leave from the New Zealand tour to be by the side of his child-bearing wife. That is why this all-rounder, one of the best of all time, was not seen in the entire series against New Zealand. Despite playing Test series against Sri Lanka after Kiwi series, Bangladesh did not play any ODI.

Shakib last played for the national team in January this year. That's why he returned to the ODI team after about four months. Nannu sees this as positive for the team. The BCB selector is also expecting a good series against Sri Lanka.

"If Shakib or the best players are in the team, it’s better for the team. They played in practice matches. If everyone is confident, I hope it will be very good. We are looking forward to a good series," Nannu said to media.
"We played well against the West Indies. So we didn't bring many changes. Almost everyone from that team are in the final squad. I hope we'll perform well against Sri Lanka too" he added.
