Delhi Capitals (DC) took on the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and convincingly won the game by 6 wickets as well.
Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first. He announced the only change to the side as Jayant Yadav came in place of Adam Milne. Delhi Capitals also made changes as Shimron Hetmyer and Amit Mishra came into their playing eleven.
However, Mumbai Indians post 55 runs in the powerplay with the loss of one wicket - Quinton de Kock (1) in the third over to Marcus Stoinis (1-20), who handed over the responsibilities with the new ball as well. Suryakumar Yadav (24) once again failed to contribute much as Avesh Khan (2-1) removed him very cheaply.

While the wickets were falling, set-batsman Rohit Sharma too couldn't capitalize much as the veteran spinner Amit Mishra removed him for 44. Their middle-order failed miserably as both Pandya brothers got out soon after.
Then, all-rounder, Kieron Pollard was trapped in front after misreading Amit Mishra’s googly to reduce MI at 84-6 after 12 overs. However, they aimed to put up a defendable total and the onus fell upon Ishan Kishan and Jayant Yadav. The duo added a 39-run partnership for the 7th wicket before another dismissal ended things quickly and gave Mishra, his fourth wicket as well.
Mumbai Indians ended the innings at 137-9 after a stunning over by Avesh Khan in the end as well.
While chasing, Delhi Capitals batsmen had the tough task to score in the slow track of Chennai. However, Shikhar Dhawan received an early life as the stunning catch taken by Hardik Pandya inside the ring was adjudged not out by the third umpire. However, like the first innings, spin made an impact soon as Jayant Yadav removed Prithivi Shaw in a simple caught and bowled manner.
However, Dhawan led the chase and got good support in Steve Smith (33) and they both helped the team to steady the ship in the middle overs before Pollard trapped him before the stumps. Lalit Yadav was promoted up in the batting order and rotated the strike well. But the Orange Cap holder missed out on a well-deserved half-century which brought the skipper Rishabh Pant (7) in the middle.
But Bumrah cleaned up the dangerous batsman to brought the hope back in the Mumbai camp. DC needed 15 runs to win off the final 2 overs when Bumrah came to bowl his final over to bowl the penultimate over of the run-chase.
He started the over with a no-ball and followed it up with another one which led DC close to their target. Although he did not concede any boundary, he gave away 10 runs to reduce the equation to 5 runs off the final over as well. Pollard, who came to bowl the final over could only bowl one delivery as a boundary followed by a no-ball helped DC registered their third win as well.
