The International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to award Test status to the Bangladesh women's cricket team. The women's cricket teams of Afghanistan and Zimbabwe also got a chance to play Tests with Bangladesh.
Only ten women’s teams including India, West Indies, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, South Africa, Netherlands, Ireland, England, Australia, and Pakistan have had the privilege of playing Test cricket.
“It was decided that Test and ODI status shall be permanently awarded to all Full Member women’s teams,” ICC said on Thursday [April 1].

In 2011, Bangladesh women's cricket team started their journey in international cricket.
Bangladesh women’s won against USA in their first match. The biggest achievement of the team was winning the Women's Asia Cup by defeating India in 2018.
However, Bangladesh haven’t played a 50-over World Cup, although they have had the opportunity to play in the T20 World Cup four times.
The Netherlands and Ireland women's cricket teams have also had the opportunity to play Tests as ICC affiliates. After a long wait, the dream came true for Bangladesh to play the white-ball cricket.
