Bangladesh have faced defeat in the first match of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand as ODI captain Tamim Iqbal blames the batsmen for such performance.
Bangladesh batsmen have struggled against New Zealand bowlers Trent Boult and Matt Henry from the beginning of their innings. Tamim has admitted to the mistakes and stated that they do not want to repeat them in the next match.

“I thought there were too many soft dismissals. No doubt they bowled really well, but we have ourselves to blame. We take pride in our batting and that was nowhere near enough. Hope we find out the mistakes and not repeat them next time,” said Tamim.

Tamim has no complaints about the preparation, while he is expectating better results in the next matches.
“We had a couple of days here, I cannot complain about our preparation. It's not new to us, we know what to expect. And we hope we put up a better performance.”
Tamim also praised the new debutant Mahedi Hasan, the right-arm offbreak bowler couldn’t get any wickets but he scored 14 runs in the match. “The first shot was lovely but I would have liked him (Mahedi) to continue. He bowled nicely as bowling in these conditions isn't easy.”
