Bangladesh all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain suffered a knee injury during the practice session. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the matter, as a result, he will miss the Tomorrow's [Tuesday] practice match.

“Mosaddek Hossain suffered a knee injury during his first day of fielding at Queenstown. As a result, he is not playing in the preparation match.” confirmed by a statement from the BCB.

However, strength and conditioning coach Nick Lee said everyone except Mosaddeq was in good health. He sees the extra training in New Zealand helped everyone to be in the best position in terms of fitness.

“The long journey has been a blessing. Because I didn't have to rush down to practice. Everyone was allowed to do light exercise during the two-week quarantine in Christchurch. In the first week everyone did light exercise, cycling in the room. Since then Gym has started . In the next step, running and skill practice has started. The fitness condition of everyone is very good,” he said.

Earlier, BCB announced the squads without Mosaddek. Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal and Najmul Hossain Shanto will captain the two teams, which will be played on March 16. Apart from Bangladesh cricketers, 5 local cricketers from New Zealand will also participate in the XI.

According to the schedule, the first ODI of the series will be played on March 20. The next two matches will be on March 23 and 26. The two teams will play the matches in Dunedin, Christchurch and Wellington.

The series will conclude with the T20 series which commence on March 28, 30 and April 1. The matches will be played in Napier, Auckland and Hamilton.
