Bangladesh Pacer Shahadat Hossain was banned for five years for attacking his teammate in the last national league but in less than 16 months of the punishment, on February 23, the pacer applied to the BCB to reduce the punishment. Akram Khan, chairman of the BCB's cricket operations committee, told Cricfrenzy that an appeal would be made to the disciplinary committee to reduce the punishment, considering the illness of the pacer's mother.
“The discussion is going on. I will give this proposal to the chairman of the disciplinary committee so that he can be pardoned. Looks like it will happen. Since her mother is ill and struggling to pay for her treatment. I hope Shahadat will be able to return to cricket as soon as the punishment is lifted” said Akram.

32 years old pacer needs money for the treatment of his mother who is suffering from cancer. He wants to treat his mother by playing in the national league. So far, the pacer has received all kinds of support from the BCB.
"BCB is helping me a lot, I have talked to CEO Sir, Akram bhai. There has been a lot of talk. Maybe they're giving me one last chance. I can assure you that this will never happen again.
“I would like to thank the Cricket Board in particular, the President of the Board, the President of CWAB.They are all helping me a lot. If I get a chance, maybe I will be able to get treatment for my mother by playing in the national league” Shahadat said to Cricfrenzy.
Shahadat has played 38 Tests, 51 ODIs and 6 T20I matches for Bangladesh. However, he has not played for the national team since May 2015. This fast bowler got the first hat-trick of Bangladesh team in ODI against Zimbabwe in 2006.
