Bangladesh is currently on tour of New Zealand to play three ODIs and three T20s. Former captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is optimistic about the performance of the Tigers in the upcoming series.
Bangladesh team took a bunch of fast bowlers in the squad keeping in mind the pace friendly wicket of New Zealand. However, Mashrafe thinks that the game will be played on flat wickets.

The former Tiger captain thinks New Zealand moved away from the idea of a pace-friendly wicket 20 years ago. Now they play on flat wickets. The task of the fast bowlers becomes difficult, as the batsmen get more advantage in this wicket.
"We have to realize that earlier England, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, had seaming condition wickets. But that ended 20 years ago. Now they prefer flat wickets. It is difficult to score 250 runs in Bangladesh, but there 300-350 can be easily chased. So it is more difficult for the pacers there,” said Mashrafe.
However, Mashrafe believes Tigers have the ability to beat the hosts on their soil. He thinks that the Bangladesh team can do well if they can play without taking any pressure.
“ They can do better, the ability they have, I hope they will do well, but I have said before that the pressure on each individual player has to be reduced. If they can play the game with an open mind, if there is no pressure, then they will definitely do well.”
"We all know New Zealand's condition is very difficult. And the second thing is that Shakib is not with the team, it is going tobe more difficult. But the way he spoke before leaving is very positive. Ibelieve that we will do better. Everyone is hoping that the Bangladesh teamwill do well in New Zealand."Mashrafe added.
