Some of the Bangladeshi batsmen returned back to business despite their leave as they are eyeing to prepare for the upcoming three-match ODI’s series against Sri Lanka.

It seemed BCB is trying to find out what went wrong with some of their leading batsmen during their World Cup campaign that they could not find perform to their ability.

Tamim Iqbal, Mohammad Mithun had extensive batting session at the SBNS while Soumya Sarkar took part in a running session implying that he is expected to start his batting practice in short time.

The inclusion of HP batting consultant Wasim Jaffer along with VDO analyst during the net session at the center wicket of SBNS that was conducted by Khaled Mahmud implied that they are seriously looking forward to make sure all their batmen who went through some lean patch in the World Cup are taken care off before the tour of Sri Lanka.

Tiger’s World Cup campaign ended on a sore note after two back-to-back defeats to their neighbor countries, India and Pakistan.

Jaffer, who had earlier rectified Soumya ahead of the World Cup, seemed to observing the batting session of Tamim and Mithun with a microscope to get hold of their short comings while both of them were seem talking with him in to get a better understanding of their own game.

Jaffer, earlier, worked with Soumya to rekindle his form and everyone saw a more polished side of the opener during the World Cup and during the tri-Nation series in Ireland as well.

Tamim who started his practice sessions just a day later arriving in Dhaka from England was joined by Mithun in nets.

Mithun, who looked well in form during the tri-nation series and the series against New Zealand before that, was dropped from the playing side during the World Cup after being featured in first three matches as the right-handed batsman failed produce big innings with the chances he had. While Shakib Al Hasan is not available to as he had asked for a formal leave to the Board from the upcoming series against Sri Lanka, Mithun may find him at three- a place where Shakib showed no surrender after being introduced.

‘’I think Jaffer just wanted to see how Tamim is going after particular type of bowling,’’ Mahmud told daily sun on Sunday.

‘’It is up to him whether he will take his advice or not because after playing international cricket for so long there is hardly anything new to add apart from just doing some fine tune,’’ he said.

Mahmud added that Jaffer stint with Abahani during the last Dhaka Premier League where he shared the dressing room with Mithun is helping him to tell him about his short comings.

‘’He played with Mithun in Abahani and so he know how he bats. In this kind of cases [when someone is going through some lean patch] what is important is to remind him how he bats when he bats with an open mind,’’ he said.
