Bangladesh head coach Steve Rhodes decided to part ways officially on Wednesday after speculation of his staying back grew stronger on the back of Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hassan’s insisted that all was not over between them and the Englishman.

Nazmul took a completely U-turn regarding head coach Rhodes as he insisted there is possibility of his staying further in London in less than 48 hours after it was declared by BCB that both parties have separated mutually.

Nazmul gave an explanation regarding the status of Rhodes that is completely different from the development that was projected to the media by the BCB chief executive earlier when he stated that the ball is on his court.

‘’I will talk about this in details at Dhaka. The second thing is, shortage is not an issue. Mainly, after the World cup coaching staffs and players are evaluated. This is one type of process of this. Everyone has their own style. I am not saying his style is bad,’’ Nazmul told reporters in England on Wednesday while watching the game of the Parliamentary World Cup.

‘’But the thing that happens sometimes is that when the mentality doesn’t match it creates problems. That why we are thinking about that but we haven’t excluded him yet. He had an option. If he wants he can stay too maybe for a few more months. We have discussed with him mutually. There is a possibility that he may leave. But we haven’t got anything from him yet. As a result, options are not over yet,’’ he said.

‘’Maybe he can be here, we didn’t talk about that. We have some differences in our thinking. The question is, he will continue or not. And there is a possibility that he can continue. I think he will give it. I don’t know it yet. May be he gave it last night or today. I didn’t receive anything from his side.  We have T20 World Cup approaching, so we want to finish this as early as possible,’’ he added.

When Rhodes arrived at BCB certainly a hype was created inside the home of cricket considering the statement made by the BCB boss at London while watching the game on Wednesday.

There was speculation that Rhodes might stay back till the tour of Sri Lanka where Bangladesh is scheduled to play a three-match one-day international series from July 26 till 31 but he poured water on it by saying goodbye to his employers.

Rhodes, who was quite approachable by the journalist earlier, looked to be in no mood to share his experience in the Tigers dressing room with the media that only implied he left the post with a heavy heart.

According to some national cricketers he is yet to say goodbye to them and they believe it was due to the shock that he received with the unexpected turn of events in the last three days as many felt he had accompanied the national team to make his plans for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour.

BCB chief executive Nizamuddin cleared all the speculation regarding Rhodes to the media hours after the former English wicket-keeper batsman left the SBNS premises that suggested it is officially all over between Rhodes and BCB.

‘’It was just a formality. We have discussed some relevant issues with him, some of them were internal process. Probably he will leave Bangladesh today,’’ Nizamuddin told reporters at BCB on Thursday.

‘’It's his personal matter. When a relationship breaks it is very simple matter that there will be some issues. Probably Rhodes wants to avoid those [and did not speak],’’ he said.
