Minister Rajshahi feels that they have a balance side to go far in the upcoming Bangabandhu T20 tournament despite not taking any ‘A’ grade cricketer in their squad.
Rajshahi had the chance to call in the fourth round but instead of picking left-arm pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman or current national T20 skipper Mahmudullah, they opted for all-rounder Saifuddin.
Rajshahi were in two minds regarding Mahmudullah’s availability considering the fact they he had skip the ongoing Pakistan Super League for sustaining corona virus.

Mustafizur exploit in the recent days with the cherry could not make them hopeful either about the cutter master that prompted them to take all-rounder Saifuddin.
Rajshahi coach Sarwar Imran said that he is not too concerned about not having any ‘A’ grade cricketer in their squad but insisted he missed Liton Das as he was aiming to pick him but could not do so in the player’s draft.
‘’When we had the chance to call we had option of having Mustafizur Rahman or Mahmudullah. We had thought of picking Mahmudullah but he is having corona so we decided to back out from the decision. We opted for an all-rounder (Saifuddin) instead of Mustafizur and later we picked another all-rounder in Mehedy Hasan,’’ Sarwar told reporters on Saturday.
‘’We don’t rue for not having any A grade cricketer in our squad because we feel that we have got a balance squad and can go far in the tournament if we can perform as a unit,’’ he said.
‘’We were aiming to pick Liton Das but we failed to do so in the end but that is part and parcel of player’s draft where you win some and you lose some as well,’’ he added.
Players’ draft for the upcoming Bangabandhu T20 Cup will be held at a city hotel November 12.
