Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan said that they are willing to compromise on player's fitness as that is area of concern for the Tigers.
BCB boss said that the players have to improve their fitness level to stay in the national team as it has been a problem in Bangladesh's cricket for quite a long time.
BCB recently has set a new fitness benchmark for the players ahead of the upcoming National Cricket League requiring them to score at least 11 in their respective beep test to become eligible for the competition.
The BCB last year made the beep test mandatory for all players to participate in domestic competitions but the minimum score required in the first year was only nine.
But the BCB raised the bar this year to add competition among the players and make them more conscious about the fitness, saying that failure to get 11 in the test might lead a player getting axed from the divisional squad for NCL, starting on October 7.
Most of the players cannot save many runs in the outfield and their throwing has been questioned for some time and according to national coach Russell Domingo this is largely related to fitness.

“Currently the main issue is fitness. The players’ fitness level is so bad and the coach [ Domingo] is not happy with the fitness and he said he has never seen such fitness of players at the international level while he was working in South Africa,’’ Nazmul told reporters at his residence on Friday.
While other countries beep test result is more or less 15 but our players find it tough to reach 13,’’ he said
“We can survive with this level of fitness as the players are coming scoring 9-10 in beep test fitness level,’’ he said.
‘’I have seen in some newspapers, it is being discussed. But everyone has to be focused on fitness,’’ he said.
‘’Our team’s fitness has to improved and we need to start it from somewhere,’’ he said
