Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin said on Monday that they are keeping a pool of sixty players and want to nurture them to develop a strong unit across format.

Bangladesh began the conditioning camp comprising 35 cricketers at SBNS on Monday somehow there was no Nurul Hasan or Anamul Haque into it.

The missing of the duo along with some few others raised quite a few eyebrows but Minhajul cleared the air through revealing their plan of action.

‘’This conditioning camp is for Test and T20. We arranged the conditioning camp because the players were out of fitness camp, within these four days, we will examine some players,’’ Minhajul told reporters in the opening day of the camp.

Bijoy-Shohan are with A team and a list of players is given to merge with HP team which is out of this series. They are also joining the HP.  We have a team consisting with 60 players. And these players will be provided for A team, HP and BCB XI so that we can put all the players all together.

‘’We have made a plan for everyone. All the players are included in 60-man squad are in our radar and we are keeping a close eyes on them,’’ he said.

Minhajul added that Bangladesh A team will tour Sri Lanka in September while HP will have matches against India Under 23 in September.

These games of “A” team and HP unit followed by the Twenty20 tri-nation will help them judge their bench strength and they are looking forward towards it.

‘’They will go to Sri Lanka in the middle of September for three four-day matches while the HP have one-day matches against India under-23 from September 17,’’ said Minhajul.

‘’And we T20 in tri-nation series [ involving Zimbabwe and Afghanistan]. Here 50-cricketer will have chance, this a good sign. We have lots of matches, we will have chance to judge the players and by that we can hunt new players for next year’s,’’ he said

‘’Test Championship is forthcoming, which is very important. Getting used to Test cricket is very important. Performing in Test cricket is necessary to for establishment in cricket. The more you will play good in Test cricket, it will bring out more success in other formats,’’ he said.

‘’So considering that, we have scheduled longer format matches for A team. A team is going to Sri Lanka next month where they will play three four-day matches,’’ he added.

Minhajul added that the selection committee will start their planning for the next Twenty20 World Cup from the upcoming tri-nation while they will also keep a close look at BPL.

And apart from that, we want to make some players specialized in longer format.  And we have one-day and T20 matches. T20 World Cup is also coming and BCB has planning regarding that. We want to start working from BPL. Afghanistan and Zimbabwe tri-nation is a good scope. Our planning starts from here,’’ he added.
