Bangladesh former captain Mashrafe Mortaza believes that the Tigers have a chance to win against South Africa and Sri Lanka in the group stage of the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Mashrafe attended the press conference during the Bangabandhu Gold Cup International Kabaddi tournament at the Bangladesh Olympic Association auditorium today, where he talked about the possibility of the Tigers in the upcoming mega-event.
"We should win against South Africa and Sri Lanka. We had won an away series against South Africa, even though that was an ODI series. I feel that they will at least win against either South Africa or Sri Lanka. Hopefully, Inshallah, they will do well," said Mashrafe.

The former captain was confident that the Tigers wouldn't choke against the associate teams and urged the team to strive for wins in all four of their group stage matches.

"If you fear about losing against them [Nepal, Netherlands], that's not good. We must win against either South Africa or Sri Lanka and then beat both of them… Why not [win against] South Africa and Sri Lanka? We should aim to beat both teams," he added.
Bangladesh will kick off the tournament with their bitter rival Sri Lanka on June 8 at Grand Praire Stadium.
