Bangladesh stand-in captain Najmul Hossain Shanto believes they can win the third ODI against New Zealand if they can deliver a complete team performance.
Bangladesh has already lost the ODI series 2-0 after suffering consecutive defeats in the first two ODIs. However, their recent seven-wicket loss in the second match provided some positive outcomes, as stated by the captain.

Soumya Sarkar recorded a 169 innings against the Kiwis which impressed the captain. He also lauded the emergence of spin-allrounder Rishad Hossain.

“We want to win the next match. We had set a target in the beginning but that didn't happen. I think we were a bit unlucky because of the rain in the first match. Soumya played a great innings in the second match, Rishad bowled well. So there are many positives here too. I think it's important to look at what areas we've done well this year, rather than just thinking about the negatives,” said Shanto.
Shanto reckoned there has been much improvement in the team. He further lauded the individual performances of Soumya, Rishad and Shoriful Islam.
“Rishad's bowling spell yesterday (last match) was very good, Soumya's comeback was excellent, Shoriful's new ball bowling was very good. All in all I think there has been some improvement. If we can play as a team a little more then it seems possible to win the match,” he added.
