Tamim: You’ll still see me for a couple of years

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon revealed that opener Tamim Iqbal’s fate will be decided after next year’s Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
“After the BPL Tamim’s decision will be taken.” said Papon after his meeting with Tamim.
"After the election, when the BPL starts, all the players will be here, the coaching staff will also be here. In that time I can collect all information and then take the decision that will benefit our cricket the most" he added.
Tamim did not play in the World Cup despite returning to international cricket after retirement as he opted out of the tournament due to internal issues.

Just before the World Cup, Tamim withdrew his name from the World Cup team and the opener then withdrew from the Test series against New Zealand at home. Not only that, Tamim will not play in the away series against New Zealand.
The opener was supposed to sit down with Papon last Sunday about his future in international cricket but it was rescheduled.
Today (Monday), Tamim did a close-door meeting with the BCB boss at Papon's Gulshan residence around 12-noon for the meeting.
Tamim came out after about one and a half hours meeting but he left the BCB president's residence without saying a word. It is learned that Tamim will speak at his home in Banani at five o'clock today.
Papon, who has been the board president for almost an era, hinted he will leave his chair soon but he will take strong decisions for the sake of Bangladesh cricket.
“I’ll not be around for long, but I will take some hard decisions for the sake of Bangladesh cricket” Papon said.
