New Zealand was scheduled to play a two-day warm-up match against Bangladesh on November 23 and 24, after arriving in Dhaka on November 21 for their two-match Test series. However, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) cricket operation manager Shahriar Nafees confirmed to Circfrenzy that the warm-up match won’t take place.
New Zealand cricket team, who will play World Cup semi-final against India, could qualify to the Final on 19th November if they beat the hosts. The Kiwi Cricket Board has requested to cancel the warm-up match from the schedule to rest their players.
“New Zealand is playing the semi-final of the World Cup, they were supposed to come to Dhaka on November 21 to play a warm-up match. That's not happening anymore. It was canceled at the request of their board. They will come directly to Bangladesh from the World Cup. After that, they will play two Tests, before that they’re not willing to play warm-up match as they want to rest. The series is starting with the Sylhet Test on November 28” Nafees said.

Bangladesh has not yet played any match in the new cycle of Test Championship. After the ODI World Cup, Tigers’ Test Championship mission will begin with this two-match series.
