West Indies mystery spinner Sunil Narine has announced his retirement from International cricket, but will continue to play in franchise leagues.
The spinner took to social media to announce his decision of retire. He thanked his “fans, peers and loved ones”, expressing the support he has received through his career.

"I appreciate it has been over four years since I last played for West Indies but today I am announcing my retirement from international cricket," Narine wrote on Instagram. "Publicly I am a man of few words but privately there are a few people who have given me unwavering support throughout my career and helped me realise my dream of representing West Indies and to you I express my deepest gratitude."

He also announced to retire from List A cricket, however, he will continue to appear in the franchise cricket. He is currently playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL.
“I am also taking this opportunity to bow out of domestic 50 over cricket. I love representing Trinidad & Tobago, the country of my birth, and to add another title by winning this current Super50 Cup will be the perfect send off. Needless to say, outside of this it will continue to be business as usual for me in the franchise world for the foreseeable future.”
The 35-year-old played 6 Tests, 65 ODIs and 51 T20Is and was part of the T20 World Cup-winning West Indies side in 2012.
He last played for the senior national team in 2019 in T20I cricket. His last Test was in 2013 while he had not played an ODI after 2016.
