Bangladesh batter Tamim Iqbal has come out to the media for the first since his exclusion from the World Cup squad. According to the former captain, the Bangladesh cricket team has disappointed the whole nation but he urged everyone to keep supporting the Tiger cricketers.
Bangladesh has already been eliminated from the ODI World Cup after suffering six defeats on the trot. The Tiger's remorseful performance in the tournament drew a lot of criticism from the cricket fraternity. However, he insisted on supporting the players despite their poor outing.

"Cricket is something that brings people together. We are so emotional about cricket that when things don't go well we feel like the world has ended and when we win, we feel like we've won it all. Now we are going through a rough time. I would say, try to be with the team and keep supporting them,” said Tamim in an event hosted by Prothom Alo.

“Everyone takes out frustrations somewhere. Just think about 15 players who are struggling there. How did the reaction fall on their families or themselves? I know this is a difficult time, we have let the nation down. But at the end of the day, they are all human,” he said.
Tamim has announced his retirement from the T20 format, following his exclusion from the World Cup squad his return to the other formats is bleak.
When asked whether he would return in national color he replied,” It doesn't matter whether I play or not. We should support the Bangladesh team. I don't know whether I will play or not. If I play then you will see me on the field. Pray for me,” he added.
