Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the most anticipated 15-men World Cup squad on Tuesday with just a week remaining before the start of the ICC World Cup.
BCB revealed the World Cup squad via social media following the third ODI game between Bangladesh and New Zealand, with Shakib Al Hasan as captain and Najmul Hossain Shanto his deputy.
The board decided to announce the squad without Tamim as he is not fully fit from his back injury. That's why BCB has decided not to keep him on the World Cup team.
Tamim has been suffering from a back injury for a long time. After recovering from that injury, he played an ODI against New Zealand in the World Cup mission.
There, he gave hope to the team by playing an innings of 44 runs, but after the match, he told the press conference that his back discomfort did not go away completely.
He informed the team management and expressed concern about whether he would be able to play the whole game even if he was selected for the World Cup.

Then coach Chandika Hathurusingha and captain Shakib al Hasan met last night in the BCB boss’s residence to discuss the situation as they objected the inclusion of an 'unfit' cricketers in the World Cup squad.

During the third ODI on Tuesday, BCB president Papon called former captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza to a meeting, it was understood that he was there to help solve the heat between two-star players.
After meeting with various parties, BCB finally decided not to take Tamim to the World Cup team.
There were rumors that Shakib would step down as captain as he did not want unfit players in the upcoming World Cup, which caused a lot of buzz among the netizens. Despite all the drama, the board announced the team with Shakib as the captain.
Veteran Mahmudullah Riyad has also been included in the squad, having made a return to the national fold after more than a five-month gap through the ongoing New Zealand series.
Bangladesh has included the young opener Tanzid Tamim, who is a potential replacement for Tamim. Litton Das will be joined by the youngster. However, the team management might also opt for the all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz for the role.
The spin duo of Nasum Ahmed and Mahedi Hasan has also been picked after a strong showing in the latter part of the Asia Cup and the early part of the New Zealand ODIs.
Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam, Tanzim Hasan Sakib will be seen in the pace attack.
