New Zealand team’s one portion practiced today at Sher-e-Bangla national stadium, who came to Bangladesh the day before yesterday, all have come to the field, the rest of the New Zealand team didn’t take part in a warm day in Dhaka.


New Zealand team stand-in head coach Luke Ronchi and batting coach Ian Bell have come along with the team in the practice session.


New Zealand pace bowling coach, who was also former coach of Bangladesh, Shane Jurgensen is also came with the tourists.

“It's been a few years since I've been here, but yeah, nice to see some familiar faces again in Bangladesh. A lot of the guys that used to help us with the team when I was with Bangladesh and a lot of supporters, so it was nice to be back,” said Jurgensen.

The cricketers of the New Zealand team will try to adapt the weather in Bangladesh as the heat and humidity of Dhaka will be the biggest challenge for the Kiwis after visiting England.



“Getting used to the heat will be the first challenge. Heat and humidity, getting used to surfaces, they'll be a little bit different compared to what we just had in England. Wickets that will generally offer a little bit to spin, but at the same time, good opportunity for our batting group to knuckle down and get some ones on the board and for our bowls to support them,” he added.



In this series, Lockie Ferguson will step into the role of captain, marking his first time to lead the Blackcaps.


The tour will consist of 3 ODIs and 2 test matches however the Test series will be played post Cricket World Cup 2023.


The host Bangladesh and New Zealand will play the first ODI on September 21. The second and third matches will be played on September 23 and 26.
