Bangladesh team have started their first training in Kandy on Tuesday sans their premium batter Litton Das, who is suffering from a fever. Bangladesh vice-captain dropped from the first match of the Asia Cup. If he is healthy, he will join the team in Pakistan.
However, Bangladesh spin bowling coach Rangana Herath is not worried about the situation and are ready to take the challenge in his home country.
“I think he's [Litton] under observation with doctors I'm sure we will get a good news from doctors as soon as possible. We have done our preparation so we almost get ready to play so whatever the challenge as you said so we are ready to play, our boys will give our best,” Herath told media in the practice ground today.
“Injuries and it's all about that as I said earlier so those concerns are not under our control. So it can happen. Players can get injured” he added.

Herath also hinted there will be some debutants in the opening game against Sri Lanka on 31st August as young opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim is the frontliner of the list.

The latest edition of the Emerging Asia Cup was held in Sri Lanka too, Bangladesh could not do well as a team. But Tanzid gave an eye-catching performance with his bat as Tanzid scored 179 runs at an average of 44.75 in 4 matches in that tournament with three half-centuries in 3 out of 4 matches.
Tanzid is now standing on the edge of putting on the national team jersey for the first in Sri Lanka.
“Tanzid has done well with the emerging team. So in that case, I'm sure that there will be some debutants but always that they are looking for the opportunity. So I'm sure that they will grab from both hands.” Herath said.
The former Sri Lankan spinner is also confident about another opener Naim Sheikh, who also played in the Emerging Asia Cup and returned to the national team after a long break.
“Good to see him back actually that he has done well in the emerging tournament as well. So because he has the experience and knowledge to perform well so now he's in good shape and he's doing well at the moment.”
