India sealed the second T20 against Bangladesh women as the visitors turned around to beat Bangladesh by 8 runs in Mirpur.

Excellent bowling and fielding kept India below 100 for the first time. But the team failed in batting again.

Captain Nigar Sultana Joty fought alone but she could not come close to finish the work. India won the three-match series with one match in hand.

India scored 95 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. This is their lowest score against Bangladesh in this edition. The previous lowest was 101 for 1 at Cox's Bazar in 2014.

Bangladesh needed 10 runs from the last 8 balls with 5 wickets in hand in the run chase. After Joty got out, Bangladesh’s hope of victory vanished. The hosts lost 4 wickets in the equation of 9 runs in the last over and only got 1 run.

No one else could reach double figures except Joty, who scored 38 runs off 55 balls.

India came into the match as runaway favourites to record a straightforward win after their comprehensive victory in the first T20I.

Things could go according to the script when Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma got them off to a quick start. But the visitors then ended up losing three wickets within five deliveries between the fifth and sixth overs.

Nahida Akter got Mandhana (13) when India posted 33 on board and then Sultana Khatun struck twice as she grabbed Shafali Verma (19) and Harmanpreet Kaur (0) and leave the visitors for 33 for 3.

After the failure of top-order batters, none of the middle order and lower order could put up a fight. The maximum runs for the team came from the bat of Shefali. Apart from her, Amanjon Kaur's innings of 14 runs was the second highest.

Bangladesh kept the pressure up, hardly letting anything slip in the field and eventually, India were restricted to a paltry score of 95/8.

Sultana is the most successful bowler among Bangladeshi bowlers. She grabbed three for 21 runs. Besides, Fahima Khatun took two wicket, while Marufa Akhtar, Nahida Akhtar and Rabeya Khan took one wicket each.
