The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed Ian Durrant as the Lead Physical Performance Coach of Bangladesh Women. He joins on an initial two-year contract.


Durrant has extensive work experience with the England Women’s Cricket Team with which he had over a decade’s involvement as ECB’s Lead Womens Strength And Conditioning Coach.


Durrant has already arrived in Bangladesh and was looking ahead to his new assignment, “I’m really excited to be joining the Bangladesh Women’s Team. I’m looking forward to the new challenge and can’t wait to meet everyone,”

“The Women’s Team have a big year ahead and I can’t wait to get started.”


Earlier, two former national cricketers Sajjad Ahmed Shipon and Sajal Ahmed Chowdhury elected as chief selectors of women team, while Sri Lankan Dinuka Hettiarachchi named spin bowling coach.


All these changes came after the exclusion of selector Manjurul Islam.
