Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Mahendra Singh Dhoni was disappointed with the bowling performance of his side despite the 12-run win against Lucknow Super Giants.
CSK bowled 16 extra deliveries with three no balls and 13 wides during the match. The bowling duo of Deepak Chahar (0/55) and Tushar Deshpande (2/45) bowled five and three wides respectively while Deshpande added four no-balls.
MS Dhoni warned his bowlers not to bowl no-balls and too many wides in their upcoming IPL matches, or else they will have to play under a new captain.
"It's the fast bowling that needs to slightly improve, and they need to bowl according to the conditions. Maybe, even if it's on the flatter side, have fielders and try to bowl in the areas where you are pushing the batsmen to hit over the fielders,"
"We are bowling too many extra deliveries. They will have to bowl maybe no no-balls and less wides. Because we are bowling too many extra deliveries. Or they will have to be ready to play under a new captain at some point of time. It will be my second warning and I'll be off," said Dhoni.
