Due to a groin injury, Sylhet Strikers captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is doubtful to play in his team's final league phase match of the current Bangladesh Premier League T20 season.

The 39-year-old former captain of the Bangladesh national team, who missed Saturday's match against Rangpur Riders at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium due to a groin strain, is not expected to play in Sylhet Strikers' final league phase match against Khulna Tigers, according to the Sylhet media wing.

Khulna, who are already out of the running after winning just two of their ten games, will take on Sylhet Strikers, who are currently leading the points table with eight wins and 16 points. Since Sylhet has already advanced to the next round of the competition, they will be battling hard to defeat Khulna and finish in the top two.

Mashrafe, a seasoned pacer, has taken 12 wickets in the competition so far with an economy rate of 7.55.
