The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named Afif Hossain vice captain for the Asia Cup 2022 in the UAE.
BCB confirmed the matter in a press release on Saturday.
Bangladesh has changed the captain of this format before the Asia Cup T20. Shakib Al Hasan has been given the captaincy.

Earlier, there was a rumor that Nurul Hasan Sohan or Litton Das will be named as vice-captain but due to injury, Litton-Sohan both had ruled out of Asia Cup.
The 22-year old left-hander has played 47 T20 internationals for Bangladesh since making his debut in February 2018.
Afif might feature in another new role as the number four batter in the Bangladesh batting order, starting from August 30 against Afghanistan in Sharjah.
So far in T20Is, Afif has scored 698 runs in 42 innings, with an average of 19 and a strike-rate of 118. He has scalped eight wickets in 16 innings as well.
