Shishu Niketon crowned champions of school cricket tournament

Shishu Niketon High School, Rangpur crowned the champions of the Prime Bank School Cricket Tournament 2021-22 at the Shamsuzzoha Sports Complex, Narayanganj.
Rangpur defeated Meherpur Govt High School by 59 runs with leg-spinner Sheikh Imtiaz Shihab taking five wickets in the low-scoring final.
Chasing below per target of 103 runs, Meherpur were dismantled as they lost wickets in quick successions and eventually could muster 43 runs in 20.2 overs.

Opener Sayem Ahmed Himel (12) was the only batter from the side to cross the double digit. Rangpur skipper Imtiaz was the pick of the bowling attack, returned figures of five wickets and conceding 14 runs.
Earlier, opting to bat first Rangpur managed to put on 102 runs in 37.1 overs on the scoreboard. Ahmed Tojan was the highest run-getter for the side as he scored 28 off 34 balls and wicket-keeper batter Saad played a knock of 24 runs facing 33 balls.
The 2019-20 contention of the school cricket was discontinued after the district round due to the Covid-19 pandemic which also made an embargo running of the tournament in the following year.
