The ninth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is set to begin in January. Along with the BPL, three more franchise leagues are set to take place. Nizamuddin Chowdhury, chief executive of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), remained hopeful that the BPL will be organized on time despite the tight schedule.
According to the draft schedule, the BPL is expected to begin in the first week of January. Meanwhile, the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) will host the UAE T20 League for the first time. A South African tournament might also be held at the same time.

Alongside, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will also held at the end of January. With so many franchise tournaments at the same time, Bangladesh may find it difficult to get good quality foreign cricketers.
However, the BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said they are moving ahead with its plan according to the schedule.
"We schedule BPL based on our international and FTP commitment. We have to discuss this according to our schedule. We have international engagements before and after. We have to work in a very tight schedule. Hopefully, we will work according to our schedule,”
"There was a meeting of FTP developers in April this year. We have started working on what FTP will be till 2027. Work is in progress. The series is set to be played according to the schedule. I hope the series will be organized at the scheduled time,” he added.
