MS Dhoni has handed up the captaincy of the Chennai Super Kings to Ravindra Jadeja, a major leadership shift ahead of the IPL 2022 season.
In a formal statement released on Thursday afternoon, the franchise states that, 'MS Dhoni has decided to hand over the leadership of Chennai Super Kings and picked Ravindra Jadeja to lead the team'.

'Jadeja, who has been an integral part of Chennai Super Kings since 2012, will only be the third player to lead CSK. Dhoni will continue to represent Chennai Super Kings this season and beyond,' it further adds.
According to the announcement, Dhoni will continue to play with Chennai Super Kings this season and beyond.
Dhoni, who has led CSK since the league's start in 2008, may be playing in his final IPL season this year. He is no longer a member of the international cricket team.
CSK has won the IPL four times (in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021), second only to Mumbai Indians, and has the greatest victory percentage of all IPL teams (64.83 percent ).
