Ashwin voted ICC Player of the Month for February

India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been voted the ICC Player of the Month for February 2021. The veteran off-spinner claimed 24 wickets and scored 176 runs, he became the 5th highest run scorer in the Test series against England.
"In the three Tests he played, he scored a century (106) in the second innings of India’s second Test victory over England at Chennai and took his 400th Test wicket in the third Test victory at Ahmedabad. Scoring a total of 189 runs across these games and taking 32 wickets, Ashwin was the unanimous choice to win in the men’s category for February and garnered the most votes in the fan vote," ICC told the media.
England’s Tammy Beaumont was named the ICC women's Player of the Month. She played 3 ODIs in February against New Zealand where she passed fifty in each of these, totalling 231 runs.
The ICC Player of the Month awards recognise and celebrate the best performances from both male and female cricketers across all forms of international cricket each month.
