While the 2020 edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to take place in the UAE, the concern remains the same on whether the transfer of players from one bio-secure bubble in the United Kingdom to another one in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be possible, Kings XI Punjab CEO Satish Menon has said on Monday.

His comments came about England and Australia players who are currently involved in an ODI series in England. While the quarantine rules in the UAE are quite tough, Kolkata Knight Riders boss Venky Mysore said last week that those players will be available for selection from opening matches as well.

He said that the players wouldn’t have to stay in quarantine, considering they are travelling from one bio-secure bubble to another. However, Menon is not quite confident about this.

"Nobody has any clarity on that yet. The BCCI is supposed to come back on whether the quarantine can be reduced as they are coming from a bubble to [another] bubble. We don't have any clarity as yet," Menon told IANS.

Meanwhile, KL Rahul-led Kings XI Punjab will get the service of Australia batsman Glenn Maxwell and England pacer Chris Jordan – both are currently playing the ODI series and the final and decider match to take place on Wednesday. Kings XI Punjab will begin their campaign in this IPL season against Delhi Capitals at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 20.

"From what I hear from the bubble, things are exactly as it was planned. We have been following the SoP that has been laid out by the BCCI and authorities," said the CEO.

However, Kings XI Punjab are yet to win the IPL trophy in 12 seasons, but Menon is hopeful that they will break the jinx this time.

"We are hopeful of winning the title this year. The format is one where anything can happen on a given day, so we will have to see how it goes," he concluded.
