CWAB request CCDM to clear 50 percent players payment of DPL

Cricketers Welfare Association said on Monday that they have sent a letter to Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis to take steps so that start players get 50 percent payment before from their respective Dhaka Premier League clubs.
CCDM, a BCB wing tasked with the responsibility of organizing the Dhaka-based club tournament, postponed DPL for an indefinite period on April 15 as per the government directive with the growing concern of coronavirus outbreak in Bangladesh.
The senior cricketers of the country repeatedly said during this time that they should resume cricket with DPL as it will help them prepare themselves for bigger stage.

While the national team players take DPL as preparation stage, according to CWAB official the resumption of DPL is important as it is considered to be the major source of income for a large section of cricketers.
‘’We have asked CCDM to ask the clubs so that they complete 50 percent payment to the cricketers before the EID,’’ CWAB member secretary Debabrata Paul told Cricfrenzy on Monday.
‘’According to the bylaws 50 percent was expected to be cleared before the start of the league 25 percent during the league and 25 percent during the league,’’ he said.
CWAB also requested CCDM to resume Dhaka Premier League, country’s traditional 50-over tournament, after Eid ur Fitr complying health regulations.
CWAB, which also represents Bangladesh in player’s global body FICA, took the initiatives after the meeting of the executive members and the newly formed committee comprising current and former star cricketers along with cricket organisers to raise fund to help those have found them in big trouble in this coronavirus pandemic.
