Mushfiqur's bat goes into auction on Saturday

Bangladesh Wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim's bat is up for auction on Saturday 9 May. The auction will be held through e-commerce site Pickaboo, where the auction will continue for five days in a row. Interested people can start their bidding from Saturday 10 pm from that site. The entire proceeds from the sale will be used for the benefit of the underprivileged people who are facing the most distressed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Sports for Life" is a social initiative of NIBCO Sports Management to stand by the disadvantaged people who are suffering the most due to the coronavirus. The initiative is being jointly run by sports management company NIBCO Sports Management, e-commerce company Picabo and the world's largest development company BRAC. A portion of the amount from the auction will go through BRAC to help the families affected by the coronavirus and the rest will be donated by the players.
The right-handed clinical batsman Mushfiq scored his first double century for the country against Sri Lanka in 2013. He is now willing to give up his favourite bat in an attempt to stand by the side of poor people.

Meanwhile, along with Mushfiq, the batting gloves and jerseys of the Under-19 World Cup-winning captain Akbar Ali are also will be held up in the auction on the same day and also the bats of Mosaddek Hossain Saikat and Naeem Sheikh are also will be in the auction.
The young Tiger made history by defeating India in the final of the Under-19 World Cup in Potchefstroom, South Africa. Akbar led the team to victory in that breathtaking match. Jerseys and gloves commemorating that historic victory are now will be held up for auction to help the needy people of the country.
On the other hand, before the World Cup last year, Bangladesh won the first title in a tri-nation series in Ireland. In that match, the Tigers snatched the victory in a devastating inning of 52 from 24 balls by all-rounder Mosaddek. He also set the record for the fastest half-century by a Bangladesh player by hitting 50 from 20 balls. The auction of that precious bat will start on Saturday also.
And young top-order batsman Naeem Sheikh played an 81-run innings from 48 balls in the T20 against India in Nagpur last year. He also wants to stand by the helpless people by selling that bat at auction.
Earlier, all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan auctioned his 2019 World Cup bat for Tk 20 lakh through a Facebook page Auction 4 Action. In the last ODI World Cup, Shakib scored 606 runs in eight matches with two centuries and three fifties. Also on last Sunday night, Soumya Sarkar and Taskin Ahmed auctioned their bat and ball. Where Soumya's only Test century bat and Taskin Ahmed's hat-trick ball had a base price of BDT three lakh. In the end, a top bank of the country bought Taskin's ball for BDT four lakh and Soumya's bat for BDT four and a half lakh.
