DPL postponed for indefinite period

Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League has been postponed for an indefinite period of time. Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis [CCDM] came to the decision on Wednesday afternoon.
The premier 50-over cricket tournament of the country was first postponed on March 16 as per the government directive with growing concern of coronavirus in Bangladesh. Later on March 19 Bangladesh Cricket Board [BCB] declared postponement of all cricket activities in the country.

The CCDM had then decided to wait till April 15 to assess the situation. However with no improvement of the situation and the country in lockdown since March 26 till April 25, CCDM has come to its fresh decision. "We have taken a decision to suspends the league for an indefinite period. We will play the league if the situation improves and will discuss the matter with the club officials and also with the board too. We have told the club that the league is called of indefinite period," He said
This comes as a big blow to the local players of Bangladesh who depends on the DPL earnings for their livings and also to those players who do not play in the Bangladesh premier league.
Bangladesh cricket board given 30 thousand taka each for all the non-contracted players in this time so that they can run themselves in time of coronavirus pandemic.
