Former Bangladesh skipper Mohammed Ashraful said that people life should be saved first rather than thinking of playing cricket at this moment.

The Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) matches has been called off after one round of the matches due to coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Many of the local players are facing an uncertain future about DPL as most of them depends on this league for their whole year financial earnings.

Mohammed Ashraful is also worried about the whole coronavirus pandemic as it will delay the start of this year league matches

"In the whole world lot of people is dying. We have to stop that, because life is first than game. If this situation continues like this then it will be hard for the players. Most of the players plan their whole year finance depending on premier league earnings. This is the first time no clubs has given any payments to the players. I have not received my first amount of contract money yet " Ashraful told a leading bangle newspaper.

Bangladesh cricket board is giving some financial reward to the non-contracted players but Ashraful feels this is not enough for the players.

"The board is giving some money to the non-contracted players which can only run us for one month. We all want premier league to start. It can start even in the month of May and June. Though it is rainy season we can play at the time," He added.
