Bangladesh cricketers have demanded heavy punishment for Brenton Tarrant who pleads guilty to 51 murders in a New Zealand Mosque at Christchurch a years ago.
Bangladesh cricketers just escaped that incident as they were late in arriving to the mosque to say their prayers.
In March 2019, most of the player of Bangladesh cricket team went to offer their jummah prayers at Noor AL Mosque in New Zealand one of the two sites of the mass shooting that killed 49 Muslim worshipers on the spot, while two were declared dead at the hospital.
In an abrupt reaction, Mominul Haque, who had toured New Zealand with the team as a top-order batsman, said he should be taken to task for the heinous deed. “Definitely, the New Zealand government will decide his fate. But personally speaking, I feel that he should be given the highest punishment,” he added.

“I can’t say whether he would be punished or not. But he should be given heavy punishment as he has taken away so many lives. A lot of families have lost their loved ones in the massacre,” Haque told reporters.
Khaled Mashud Pilot, the team manager in that tour of New Zealand, watched from the team bus, along with other players and staff, blood-soaked victims coming out of the mosque. He said he will never forget the scene.
“The killer should be punished severely. It will set an example before the world if the shooter is punished heavily for coolly killing so many people,” he added.
Mehidy Hasan Meraj, Mohammad Mithun, and Ebadot Hossain Chowdhury also echoed the same sentiment, saying that the shooter should be given the highest punishment for killing so many people.
