Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise Rangpur Riders have let go of the service of Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza and roped in number one all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan who was an integral part of Dhaka Dynamites for the last three seasons, sources said.
Mashrafe has played in the Rangpur Raiders for two years. He led the Raiders to BPL victory in the edition of 2017 against Shakib's Dhaka Dynamites and went onto the semifinal in the last season.
Shakib has also led Dhaka Dynamites for three years. He made Dynamites champion in his first season with them and Dynamites were the finalist in the last two editions of BPL.
According to form, both Shakib and Mashrafe were two poles in the World Cup. Whereas Shakib scored 606 runs and took 11 wickets in the World cup. Mashrafe took just one wicket in the World cup and also failed to lead Bangladesh into the semifinal with the magical captaincy of his.
