Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Mithun said on Saturday that he is waiting for his time to come in the ongoing ICC World Cup.
Mithun, who was playing at number five, was replaced by Liton Kumar Das in the playing XI recently and the latter seized the first opportunity by scoring unbeaten 96 runs against West Indies.
Though Liton failed to score anything similar against Australia it is unlikely that he will be replaced against Afghanistan, unless there is an injury issue.
‘’I am looking at it in a positive manner [ the competition at number five],’’ Mithun told reporters at Southampton on Saturday.

‘’Liton in my place has played really good. He contributed for the team in our wins and even in the last match he was batting really good,’’ he said.
‘’My job now is to ready myself because at any time I might be needed, so I am practicing and do my job properly,’’ he added.
Mithun added that they should be careful against Afghanistan as they are expected to dominate against their Asian neighbour unlike the match against Australia where they played with the mindset of nothing to lose.
“I think we should be careful. When we lost to Australia you may accept many thing as they are a team above us. Everyone is expecting we win but every match is equal to us, certainly we come to the field to win, but in this match we should be more careful,’’ said Mithun adding that they are expecting the crowd to back them.
‘’It was expected that there will be Bangladeshi audience at England supporting Bangladesh but God bless we did not expect this much. It brings advantage for us,’’ Mithun concluded.
