Former Australian Speedster Brett Lee said in a recent interview that it was his childhood dream to bowl at 160 km/h and he is very glad that he achieved this speed in his bowling career. He holds the record second fastest delivery, bowling at 161.1 km/h after Shoaib Akhter’s 161.3 km/h.

“I knew at the age of 9 what I wanna do with my life. My parents asked me what you wanna do when you grow up? I said I wanna play for Australia, I wanna play cricket and I wanna bowl at 160 km/h.” Lee said.

Brett Lee said as a child he looked after Jeffrey Thompson, who was the fastest bowler of that time. And he decided that one day he will break his bowling 160 km/h and that he did.

“As a child, I looked after Thompson. 160 km/h, I said that time that I wanna break that barrier and I wanna break his [ Jeffrey Thompson ] record.” Lee concluded.

Brett Lee is a bowler who could bowl at 150 km/h consistently at the peak of his career.  He became the second bowler in history to record 100 miles per speed during the 2005 ODI game against New Zealand when he recorded 161.1 km/h (100.1 miles/ph). The thing that makes him different from other speedsters that he had the ability to bowl at 150 km/h, which is very rare among the other fast bowlers.
