Ace Bangladesh all-rounder Sakib al Hasan failed to get a place in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s second match squad of the ongoing Indian Premier League on Friday after he provided a dismal performance in their opening match of the competition.

Regular skipper Kane Williamson returned to Hyderabad XI after he missed out the first match due to a shoulder injury.

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan faced the heat on his comeback match as Andre Russell and Shubhman Gill gave Kolkata Knight Riders a six-wicket win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their Indian Premier League match in Kolkata on Sunday.

Sakib was given the responsibility to defend 13 runs in the final over, but Gill (18) struck him two sixes in his second and fourth delivery to take Kolkata to 183-4.

Before that Eden Gardens witnessed a Russell storm, with the Caribbean all-rounder smashing four fours and the same number of sixes in the 18th and 19th over to take 40 runs of those two overs.

Shakib, who turned 32 on Sunday, had begun the match well, dismissing Chris Lynn (seven) in the last ball off his first over and giving only 13 runs in his first two overs inside the power-play.

But then he conceded 15 runs in his third over before ending up with 42-1 in 3.4 overs.
