Bangladesh head coach Steve Rhodes insisted that they are not sure whether Mushfiqur Rahim can take part in the opening Test match.

Mushfiqur did not take part in the two-day practice match as precautionary measures as he sustained several injuries during the ongoing tour of New Zealand.

Mushfiqur rib injury resurfaced during the second ODI’s that made him doubtful for the last ODI’s though he went on to play eventually despite the fact scan revealed he had broken his ribs.

Mushfiqur also sustained two more injuries during the ongoing tour as he had a side strain as well as injured his wrist during the course of time and now it seems his wrist-injury making the visitors sweat over his fitness.

"I am not sure, he's [Mushfiqur has] got a problem with his wrist area, just above his thumb. The idea is to basically stop that moving so he has got protection on that which will stop it from moving. We will keep it like that for three days and then we will open it up and see what sort of movement there is and how the pain is and we will take it from there. But I wouldn't really say he is out or wouldn't really say it. So, the answer is sorry, I don't know,’’ Rhodes told reporters ahead of the Test series regarding Mushfiqur Rahim status.
