Bangladesh received injury scare ahead of the third one-day international against New Zealand as Mohammad Mithun and Mushfiqur Rahim will be kept under 48-hour observation due to their respective injuries that they sustained while playing the second ODI’s against New Zealand at Christchurch.
According to team manager Khaled Mashud, the rib pain that Mushfiqur felt for the first time during the Asia Cup in September 2018 again resurfaced while Mithun had pulled a hamstring during the second ODI’s that forced him not to take further part in the game.

Though none of them is ruled out yet Bangladesh team management is expected to have some sleepless nights as none’s availability could not be confirmed for the ODI’s series-concluding last game.
"Mushfiqur felt his old rib injury today but still he did keep wickets. We are also keeping him under observation for 48 hours and further updates about them will follow within one or two days,’’ said Mashud.
Masud added that they are also not trying to hurry up things for Mithun, who had scored a successive half-century in the series so far.
"Mithun pulled his hamstring while taking a quick single and after that, he did not go out to the field today. According to advice from the physio, he will be kept under observation for 48 hours. However, we hope he will be fine after resting but whether he will play in the next game depends on his recovery," he added.
Bangladesh will play the third and final ODI of the tour on February 20 in Dunedin after New Zealand clinched the series by an earning a 2-0 lead on the back of successive wins over the visitors in their opening two games.
