Morgan appointed as Tigers short term batting consultant

Former New Zealand first-class player Rhys Morgan will join Bangladesh coaching staff ahead of the three match Test series against New Zealand, said Bangladesh Cricket Board official on Wednesday.

The Kiwi will join the coach just after the Tigers complete their three-match ODI series on February 20 against the Kiwis under the insistence of head coach Steve Rhodes as he wanted his charges to be totally prepared ahead of the Test series.
"As four to five of our cricketers will remain in New Zealand after the ODI series while the players of the Test side who will be on their way to New Zealand so we have decided to include Morgan as an additional support staff to work with the remaining players during that time,’’ BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury told reporters on Wednesday.
"It’s a very short term inclusion of ten to twelve days. Mainly he is a batting coach but he will work in overall aspects with the team,” he said. Bangladesh will take part in the first of the three-match Test series against New Zealand on February 28 at Hamilton.
