Bangladesh all-rounder Mehedy Hasan said on Wednesday that their biggest challenge will be doing well in New Zealand considering spinner from subcontinent failed to do times and again.
Mehedy was among the eight cricketers that left Dhaka on Wednesday for the tour of New Zealand to play a series comprising with three ODI’s and as many Test matches.

“It is a big challenge for me,’’ Mehedy told reporters ahead of departing for the month-long tour. “Spinners do well in the subcontinent but they lose their role when they go out of this region and so actually, it is a challenge of us by ourselves,’’ he said.
“If we do well and can rule, the team will be definitely benefited. If we support the pacers, the team will get a good result. We will try to do the best for the team,” he added. Mehedy said that their previous experience in New Zealand will help them while they will be benefitted from the BPL as it will be helpful during crunch situation.
“We have enough time in our hands. I hope we can make enough practice there. We know about New Zealand, we had gone there before. We will try to adjust as soon as possible,’’ said Mehedy.
“Actually, our experience will proportionally increase with our matches. We will be experienced when we will be playing more and more. We are going to New Zealand after playing T20s (BPL). These experiences (BPL) will be helpful for us in the upcoming ODIs. We can utilize those tactics of making big-score or taking more risks against New Zealand. For example, how to get 6-7 runs per over during the last 10s of the innings. I will try to play good cricket,’’ he said.
