Uncapped Test pacer Ebadat Hossain said on Tuesday that he was ready for a Test call and would like to use his experience in New Zealand in the upcoming three-match Test series.
Ebadat's inclusion in the Test squad cannot be considered as a total surprise he was the highest wicket-taker among the pace bowlers in the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), country’s lone franchise-based first-class competition earlier in the 2018-19 season.

BCB HP unit can be credited for his impressive run as they kept on nursing him under the guidance and he also travelled to New Zealand with the national team as BCB opted to take him along with Nazmul Hossain Shanto as two promising stars whom they wanted to give some exposure at foreign soils.
“Actually I was ready for this Tests series,’’ said Ebadat. “Alhamdulillah, I have got the chance. I am grateful to Champaka Ramanayake as he gave me confidence and direction to turn out to be a Test prodigy,’’ he said.
“When I went to New Zealand in 2016, I realized that those wickets favour the bowlers especially the fast bowlers. Now, I have got the chance and I will prove myself,” the uncapped added.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Ebadat made his first-class debut for Sylhet Division in September 2016, has picked up 59 wickets in 19 matches. In November 2018, playing for North Zone in the Bangladesh Cricket League, he bagged a 10-wicket haul in the match against Central Zone. He also bagged a four-fer in Sylhet Sixers victory against Chittagong Vikings in a recent BPL game.
