Pace bowler Taskin Ahmed was ruled out of the upcoming New Zealand tour, at least for the ODI series, with twisted ankle, insider said. Considering the form, it was a great blow to Bangladesh’s team ambition in their tour in the Down Under.
With 22 wickets under his belt, Taskin is so far the highest wicket-taker in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

The lanky pace bowler hobbled off the ground during the match between his side Sylhet Sixers and Dhaka Dynamites on Friday. Later it was confirmed that he damaged his ligament of his left ankle, meaning he would at least missed the three-match ODI series against New Zealand.
Taskin forced his way back to the Bangladesh’s ODI side since being dropped in 2017due lack of form coupled by injury issues. He also made the cut in the Test squad.
The 23-year pacer was left out of the national team after his dismal show during Bangladesh’s South Africa tour back in 2017. He was recalled in the Nidahas Trophy T20 in Sri Lanka in 2018 but failed to impress there as well.
Whether he could be fit to play the Test series in New Zealand is subjected to how he recovers from the injury well.
