National discard Imrul Kayes lambasted national selection panel for keeping him dark regarding his status in the national cricket team.

Imrul was excluded from the New Zealand bound 15-member Bangladesh ODI squad and selectors said he was not included considering the condition in New Zealand and his recent form.

While Imrul failed to make the cut due to his two below par score against West Indies, selectors opted to include Soumya Sarkar and Liton Kumar Das despite their inconsistent performance.

They remained adamant not to make a room for the left-handed opener, who scored 349 runs in the ODI series against Zimbabwe, which was second highest total in a three-match series behind Babar Azam’s 360.

‘’I am playing like this for the last 10 years. I really don’t know whether I will be included in the next series despite performing well,’’ dejected Imrul told reporters at Chittagong on Monday.

‘’Nowadays I don’t even expect anything,’’ he said.  “I remain mentally prepared so that if any chance arises in the national team I can go and perform,’’ he said.

‘’If they had cleared me regarding my lacking [that forced them not to include me] I could have worked on it and tried to better myself ,’’ said Imrul.
