Rajshahi Kings pace bowler Kamrul Islam said on Monday that it is challenging to bowl alongside left-arm pace sensation Mustafizur Rahman as the opponent try to pick other bowlers to accelerate the scoreboard due to their inability to pick the cutter-master in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League.

Mustafizur, adorably called as ‘The Fizz’ is one of the few local bowlers who did justice to his name by shouldering the responsibility of bailing out his team from difficult position on number of occasions in the BPL with his pace and variations.

As a result, Kings opponents are often found to make their plan of action trying to go after other bowlers instead of taking their chances against Mustafizur.

“It is true that each team has different types of thinking and kept ready different planning for Mustafiz. When a team is needed to take 10 runs in the last over to win the match, if it is against Mustafiz, it will be definitely tough to score against him,’’ Kamrul told reporters at MA Aziz Stadium on Monday.

‘’In that case, the opponent may think to charge me or other bowlers, in that case, it is really difficult for us. Then, I have a target if I could bowl checking boundary. If I could finish well and keep 10-12 runs for the last over, in that case, our chances to win the match remain more,’’ he said.

Kamrul added that they are confident of reaching the last four as their team looks to be peaking up in the right time.  

 ‘’Batsmen have come into their form. Besides them, bowlers are going their jobs well. So, all the teams are stronger and furnished their respective teams. Now those who will perform better in the field will get the result. If we could perform well in the ground, we will have chances to go into the top four teams,’’ said Kamrul.

“We are, of course, confident. We are in good position so far. Now it is our turn to perform. If we could perform well, in that case, we will have chances to move into the play-offs,’’ he added.

Kamrul added he is enjoying his stint in shorter formats despite earning a name for himself in Test for his ability to bowl long spells in the domestic circuit.
