Helmut sees great prospect in improved Yasir

Chittagong Vikings youngster Yasir Ali arguably is the find of this season’s BPL as he scored runs in abundance with controlled aggression and solidity, which indicated that he has the ingredients of being the player of all format cricket.
Yasir, a Chittagong-born player had already smashed three half-centuries and scored 253 runs in seven matches. And he made those runs at a strike rate of 134.57 as a top order batsman against a top class bowling attack. His stat itself spoke a volume of the talent he gets and no surprise that everybody will mention him when it comes to find out the finds of this season’s BPL.

Chittagong Vikings coach Simon Helmut also heaped praise on the youngster, stating that the he has great future ahead of him if he can nurse him well.
“When i first met him in the academy he[Yasir]was just an young player in the academy squad. Probably needed to do some work in conditioning. He has some skills, he had to improve on his fielding and fitness. And he has done that. Now look what happened his batting has now gone to another level,” said Helmut.
‘’It's not just his batting he's improved his fitness and fielding. With all that it has given him confidence when he goes to bat. He plays cricket shots in a t20 match, drives, cuts and pulls. He can work the ball, hit with the power, hit over mid-wicket, straight and extra cover for sure. We are excited about his prospect and Bangladesh Cricket,’’ he added.
