Former South African skipper AB de Villiers said that he does not regret for retiring from international cricket despite being on his peak of his career.
AB said that fatigue was the major reason behind his decision of retiring from international cricket but after 10 months down the line, AB said that he is lucky to spend quality time with the family.
The South African is currently in Bangladesh to take part in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League for Rangpur Riders and he is happy to play the game of cricket on his own term.

‘’It wasn’t a difficult decision because I just followed my heart,’’ AB told the reporters when he was asked what went through his heart before announcing retirement from international cricket.
‘’I felt I needed more time with my family. Now I am looking forward to play five to six months of cricket instead of playing 12 months in a year. It was good for me personally and for my family as well as they will get me a bit more with them.’’
AB, who scored 9577 ODI runs and 8765 Test runs, has no drives to chase after the records. He could have played the 2019 world cup and end his career on a high note. But He said he was never bothered for making a name for himself by writing his name in the record books.
‘’I don’t care about records at all. Never had and never will because I just wanted to win games for my team. Would have been nice to win a World Cup but definitely it’s not going to define me as a person or as a cricket player,’’ he said.
‘’I had a fantastic career very enjoyable and made a lot of friends. I scored lot of hundreds all over the world. So I had a very nice and enjoyable career,’’ he concluded.
